Before you decide to climb the Xishan,make sure you are in good physical condition. The Xishan is steep and the pathsinbetween scenic spots are in twists and turns. For the sake of safety, makesure that you:

1. Climb the hill in company, so thatyou have help when needed.

2. Take a look at the distribution ofthe scenic spots within the Xishan and know about the weather before theexcursion. Have a plan before you go, and do only what is possible.

3. A comfortable pair of sporting shoesis recommended. Bring enough drinking water and snacks for refill of yourenergy.
